We have all types of flu vaccine in limited supplies: Low dose inactivated vaccine for children 6 months through age 2. Regular dose inactivated vaccine for children 3 years of age and older. Intranasal vaccine for selected patients over age 2. Any child with Asthma, Chronic lung or heart disease, diabetes or other metabolic conditions, chronic blood disorders, chronic neurological conditions or on chronic aspirin therapy are at additional risk for complications of influenza and vaccination is highly recommended. Please call the office to set up a convenient time for your child to receive the vaccine.

Parents and other caregivers of infants under 6 months of age who are too young to be vaccinated should also receive the vaccine.

This year's vaccine is the same formulation as last year. It includes protection against the H1N1 strain that is currently the most prevalent. Even if you have received the H1N1 vaccine in previous years it is still recommended for everyone over of 6 months of age.

Good news: a history of egg allergy is no longer a contraindication to receiving the vaccine.
